League-leading CSKA Moscow (21-5) can clinch first place in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season by defeating an Olympiacos Piraeus (18-8) team that’s desperate to bounce back from a tough home loss last week. The in-form Russian giant has won eight consecutive games at home and exceeded the 90-point mark in six of those contests. But Olympiacos won at Real Madrid and at Panathinaikos in its last two road games and will be keen to claim another big-name scalp in a battle of giants that could well end up being repeated again at the Final Four. This will be the 25th time these two sides meet this century, with CSKA dominating their series 16-8. In their last duel, however, the Reds won at home, 88-86, with 25 points and 12 rebounds by Jamel McLean. Nando De Colo, author of a buzzer-beating game-winner last week against defending champion Fenerbahce, leads CSKA this season (16.8 ppg.), together with Sergio Rodriguez (13.9 ppg. and 4.9 apg.) and Cory Higgins (13.8 ppg.). For Olympiacos, Vassilis Spanoulis is the main man (12.3 ppg. and 5.3 apg.), followed by Georgios Printezis (12.1 ppg.) and McLean (8.9 ppg.). The guests boast the second-best defense in the league (75.3 ppg.) and will try to make it prevail against CSKA’s mighty offense, but the hosts will play to secure first place as soon as possible.
